Some Protests Against Police Brutality Take a More Confrontational Approach

The protests are moving into white residential neighborhoods, where activists demand that people choose a side.

This article immediately made me think about the Supreme Court blog, and how the U.S has failed to protect black americans historically. It is uncanny to think about individuals being unprotected from basic rights. I feel saddened learning about the first amendment and its history involving african americans. The idea that certain factors of the law were deemed unconstitutional before black individuals rights were equal seems so incomprehensible.  It is scary to read this article and think about the race war that is so close. African American individuals with bull horns in white neighborhoods may seem outrageously confrontational, but people must sympathize with a race that has been literally stripped of rights and continuously treated with disrespect and outright unfair treatment. The idea that
human beings were denied rights has always been appalling, but especially studying the first amendment and the historical legislature and processes that include so many significant beings, still denying these rights is a serious issue.
