Anti War Movement Reflection

Similar to many groups that gain wide spread support and create the trends for others to follow, these antiwar groups focus on using media to spread their message. This is challenging for groups that have a core focus on reprimanding the commander in chief and iconic role of the current POTUS. When trying to use media, there are obvious regulations we learned about, and trying to spread an anti POTUS message through media regulated by the government poses extreme challenges. It is somewhat unproductive for these groups, attempting to spread anti government media through government controlled channels. I feel this sheds light on how the government can control our perceptions of current events, in a frightening way. I read an article that mentioned the absence of a draft also deterring anti war movements from the spot light. The media currently shapes the draft as a heroic option rather than a forced decision, keeping it out of sight for most. When reading about the current BLM movements, I feel an important factor of spreading a movement is a theme that is present in every day lives. This change in media coverage for the draft highly contributes to the lack of antiwar movements, in my opinion.
